Biography

The MUTOs (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms) are a parasitic species of Titan that reproduce by feeding on the radiation of other, larger Titans — particularly Godzilla's species. They operate as a mated pair: a smaller, winged male and a larger, eight-legged female. The male MUTO was discovered in the Philippines in 1999, having gestated inside the remains of a deceased member of Godzilla's species. The pair converged in San Francisco in 2014 to nest and reproduce, using stolen nuclear warheads as a radiation source for their eggs. Godzilla intercepted and killed both, preventing a potential global infestation of the parasitic species.
